Fox Creek Farm not only grows vegetables, the farm also harvests almost all of the electricity needed for the farm right on site. The farm operates the 300 member CSA off the grid (that is, there is no electrical connection to National Grid), and is probably the only CSA of this size in the country doing so.

We produce our electricity with two,  1.3 kW solar arrays, and harvest wind energy with a Bergey XL1 wind generator on a 100 foot tower. On a good day we can harvest approximately 15 kW in electricity.

Our energy efficient walk-in cooler is run with an air-conditioner unit in combination with a CoolBot regulator, we pump water from our well with a slow-start water pump. Otherwise, we run all the electrical tools and equipment usually found on farms of our size.
